In 2022, WISTEMA acquired a 10,000m² logistics center in Kerpen for our polymer division. After further investments and conversions, we started operations on January 1, 2023. Through this investment, we are expanding our range of services for our customers and suppliers by being able to store, transfer and package polymer-based products. Centrally located near Cologne, we can thus promptly supply our European customers or market our products to third countries via the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam.

The polymer division of WISTEMA has grown strongly in the last 10 years and offers a variety of products such as polyethylene waxes, additives or various polymers such as PVC. Due to the increased complexity of supply chains and logistics, this allows us to serve our customers quickly and reliably with important raw materials. "With the new warehouse, we have become more flexible and productive. The shorter distances and larger storage area now provide the scope to respond quickly enough to customer requests," explains Abdi El-Akrouche, head of the polymer department.

Furthermore, we plan to implement synergies with our chemicals business in the future and to license a section of our logistics center for certain hazardous goods. This underlines WISTEMA's claim to continue to be a reliable partner to the chemical industry and to offer added value to our customers and suppliers.
